COURSE OUTLINE
WEEK 1
Online modules 1,2 &5 {to be completed prior to lab}: Introduction to dental assisting, oral anatomy, infection control, instruments, and oral surgery.
Lab: DA 101 Basic Chairside Assisting & Infection Control.
WEEK 2
Online modules 6&9 {to be completed prior to lab}: Impression & Lab, Restorative & Esthetic Materials.
Lab: DA 102 Alginate Impressions & Model Pouring/Trimming
WEEK 3
Online modules 4&7 {to be completed prior to lab}: Oral Diagnosis, Dentrix, Provisional Coverage
Lab: DA 103 Provisional Coverage, Charting &Dentrix
WEEK 4
Online modules 3A and 12 {to be completed prior to lab}: Pediatric dentistry, dental caries, and dental photography.
Lab: DA 104 Matrix Systems, Moisture Control, Instruments Review & CPR training.
WEEK 5
Online module 8 {to be completed prior to lab}: Basic Radiology
Lab: DA 105 Matrix Systems, Moisture Control, Instruments Review & CPR training.
WEEK 6
Online modules 10 &11 {to be completed prior to lab}: Fixed Prosthodontics Parts 1 & 2, Removable Prosthodontics &Dental Implants
Lab: DA 106
Room Setup and Mock Chairside Assisting.
WEEK 7
Online module 3B {to be completed prior to lab}: Coronal Polishing & Sealants
Lab: DA 107 Coronal Polishing& Sealants.
WEEK 8
Online FINAL EXAM {to be completed prior to lab}:
Lab: DA 108: Cerec Procedures & Practical Final Exam
WEEK 9&10: EXTERNSHIP
40 hours externship at respected dental offices in San Antonio with experienced dental teams.
